THINGS I SAW ON MY BIKE RIDE
Things I Saw on My Bike Ride was a self-published zine to raise money for Drift West - a service bike ride through the affordable housing nonprofit Bike and Build that I completed in August 2022. The trip was a 1,000 mile route starting in Portland, OR and ending in Bellingham, WA, that went around the Olympic Peninsula and the Puget Sound. As a ride team of 28, we offered volunteer work with 10 affordable housing orgainzations such as Habitat for Humanity and the San Juan Island Land trust. This zine was apart of an effort to raise money for the ride, inspired by bike rides and experiences I had training for the trip in Portland, OR. The zine was supported and sold by the Portland book shop, Powell’s in part of the effort to raise money and awareness for the ride. As a team, we fundraised over 90,000$ to support the trip.
